Molly Balbierz, O.D.

Dr. Molly Balbierz is a dedicated optometrist with a strong focus on ocular disease and advanced dry eye care. She recently joined NuVision Centers at the Excel location, where she leads the Dry Eye Clinic.

Education & Clinical Training

Dr. Balbierz earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Niagara University before completing her Doctor of Optometry degree at Midwestern University – Arizona College of Optometry. She graduated with Beta Sigma Kappa honors and received both the Excellence in Low Vision Award and Clinical Honors, reflecting her commitment to clinical excellence and patient care.

During her training, she focused heavily on ocular disease and post-operative care in OD/MD settings, building a strong foundation in managing conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma.

Research & Professional Involvement

While at Midwestern, Dr. Balbierz participated in sports vision research studying visual performance during a full golf swing. Her work was selected for presentation at the American Academy of Optometry meeting.

She is also an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Arizona Optometric Association.

Specialty Focus

Dr. Balbierz provides comprehensive dry eye treatment using a multi-faceted approach tailored to each patient. Her treatment options include autologous serum tears, IPL, radiofrequency (TempSure), amniotic membrane placement, and punctal plugs—allowing her to address even the most complex cases.

She is especially passionate about helping patients who have struggled to find relief. Many of her most meaningful patient experiences come from working with individuals who believed their symptoms were something they had to live with.

Life Outside the Office

Outside of optometry, Dr. Balbierz enjoys yoga, Pilates, and playing golf. She also loves spending time with her puppy, Josie, exploring the Phoenix area, and cheering on her favorite football team—Go Bills!
