Welcome to Nuvision Centers! Dr. Allison Wooten and the eye care staff are here to care for all your vision needs. We offer comprehensive eye exams, including contact lens fittings, dry eye treatments, eye emergencies, and co-management of eye surgery for procedures such as LASIK.
Our patient care is personal, so we invest in the latest technology and equipment to provide individualized solutions that most other offices don’t have the skill or equipment to offer.

Allison Wooten, O.D.
The talented optometrist Allison Wooten, O.D., is the owner and lead optometry care provider at Ironwood Eye Care in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Wooten offers comprehensive eye care and has advanced training in glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, and other complex eye conditions.
Dr. Wooten earned her optometry degree at Arizona College of Optometry in Glendale, Arizona. She grew up in the Cave Creek area and is excited to now have her practice in the same vicinity as her loved ones.
Several important organizations have recognized Dr. Wooten’s skills in the optometric field. She was awarded the Allegan Excellence in Optometry award and became an active member of the Golden Key Optometric Honors Society in 2017. Dr. Wooten has earned a reputation as a caring, skilled, and highly capable optometry care provider, making her very popular with patients. She believes in personalized care, and it shows in how she treats her patients.

NHA cao, o.d.
The bright, talented Nha Cao is one of Nuvision Centers’ amazing doctors. She grew up in Texas and began her secondary education in 2009. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a Minor in Health from the University of Houston in Texas, she went on to obtain her Doctor of Optometry Degree from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona.
Dr. Cao’s residency experience focused on custom dry eye services and specialty contact lenses. She is certified in anterior segment laser and surgical procedures, Paragon CRT, ZenLens, and CPR. She performs refractive services, fits contact lenses, and aids in the care of glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, and macular degeneration, among other medical eye conditions. She is also bilingual; fluent in both English and Vietnamese. In 2019, Dr. Cao won the GPLI Excellence Award. She is best known for her laid-back yet professional demeanor and quick wit. She is the perfect mix of intelligence and nurturing, which shows in how she treats her patients. Excel Vision loves Dr. Cao, and we are certain you will too.

Dr. martha barreto
Dr. Martha Barreto completed her undergraduate education at California State University, Northridge, and obtained her optometry degree from Midwestern University. Working as an optometrist at Nuvision, she serves the people of Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Barreto believes in providing outstanding eye care and greatly invests in delivering quality care as well as professional service. She caters to a wide variety of issues such as eye infections, astigmatism, conjunctivitis, eye fatigue, and cornea problems.

Dr. joel Ackerman
Dr. Joel Ackerman is Arizona Board of Optometry Certified and has been the leading provider of optometry services and vision care products in the Phoenix/Moon Valley community since 1983. He believes in looking at the bigger picture when it comes to eye health, so he takes the time to get to know his patients, their eye care history, and their vision needs. Dr. Ackerman knows that getting the right prescription involves balancing several factors, including clear eyesight, visual efficiency, and the ability to process visual information seamlessly. Whether you need an eye exam, eyeglasses, contact lenses, treatment for eye diseases (such as glaucoma or macular degeneration), or eye surgery (such as LASIK or cataract surgery), he will provide you with the best care, advice, and options available.

DR. amanda bilunas
Dr. Amanda Bilunas, O.D., is a practicing medical optometrist at Excel Vision in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Bilunas offers comprehensive eye examinations as well as contact lens examinations. Dr. Bilunas has been practicing medical optometry for the past six years with a special interest in Scleral Contact Lenses, Corneal Refractive Therapy, Dry Eye treatment, and Pediatric eyecare.
Dr. Amanda Bilunas completed her Doctor of Optometry education with honors at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2016. At that time, she had the privilege of working with the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy, providing vision care for service members and their families. Dr. Bilunas grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and has returned to the area to be closer to her family.
