Welcome to Nuvision Centers! Dr. Allison Wooten and the eye care staff are here to care for all your vision needs. We offer comprehensive eye exams, including contact lens fittings, dry eye treatments, eye emergencies, and co-management of eye surgery for procedures such as LASIK.
Our patient care is personal, so we invest in the latest technology and equipment to provide individualized solutions that most other offices don’t have the skill or equipment to offer.

Allison Wooten, O.D.
The talented optometrist Allison Wooten, O.D., is the owner and lead optometry care provider at Ironwood Eye Care in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Wooten offers comprehensive eye care and has advanced training in glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, and other complex eye conditions.
Dr. Wooten earned her optometry degree at Arizona College of Optometry in Glendale, Arizona. She grew up in the Cave Creek area and is excited to now have her practice in the same vicinity as her loved ones.
Several important organizations have recognized Dr. Wooten’s skills in the optometric field. She was awarded the Allegan Excellence in Optometry award and became an active member of the Golden Key Optometric Honors Society in 2017. Dr. Wooten has earned a reputation as a caring, skilled, and highly capable optometry care provider, making her very popular with patients. She believes in personalized care, and it shows in how she treats her patients.

NHA cao, o.d.
The bright, talented Nha Cao is one of Nuvision Centers’ amazing doctors. She grew up in Texas and began her secondary education in 2009. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a Minor in Health from the University of Houston in Texas, she went on to obtain her Doctor of Optometry Degree from Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona.
Dr. Cao’s residency experience focused on custom dry eye services and specialty contact lenses. She is certified in anterior segment laser and surgical procedures, Paragon CRT, ZenLens, and CPR. She performs refractive services, fits contact lenses, and aids in the care of glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, and macular degeneration, among other medical eye conditions. She is also bilingual; fluent in both English and Vietnamese. In 2019, Dr. Cao won the GPLI Excellence Award. She is best known for her laid-back yet professional demeanor and quick wit. Educational Background
Dr. Martha Barreto began her academic journey at California State University, Northridge, and later pursued her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Arizona College of Optometry at Midwestern University. She has received specialized training in Myopia Control, Tempsure, and IPL treatments, equipping her to offer a wide range of advanced eye care services.

As a medical optometrist, Dr. Barreto specializes in diagnosing and managing conditions such as glaucoma, dry eyes, diabetes-related eye issues, hypertension, and ocular traumas. She is particularly skilled at handling complex cases, always dedicated to uncovering the root cause of her patients’ symptoms and providing effective treatment solutions.
Experience
With four years of experience as an optometrist and 15 years in the optometric field, Dr. Barreto has a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience. One of her most memorable cases involved fitting a young girl with her first pair of contact lenses, significantly boosting the child’s confidence and preventing ridicule from wearing bifocals. Another notable case involved a middle-aged patient experiencing unexplained visual disturbances. Through a thorough dilated eye exam, Dr. Barreto discovered swelling indicative of elevated cerebral spinal fluid leaking into the patient’s eyes. Her timely diagnosis and referral to the ER led to a critical intervention, bringing relief and gratitude from a patient who had sought answers from numerous other healthcare providers without success. Such experiences underscore Dr. Barreto’s commitment to thoroughness and patient care.

Karla West O.D. – Optometrist at Nuvision Centers – Excel, Dr. Karla West brings both expertise and a warm, compassionate approach to our optometry clinic. She’s dedicated to putting her patients at the center of care and practicing at the cutting edge of her field. Dr. West takes pride in serving our community with a friendly demeanor and is committed to finding customized solutions to her patient’s individual needs.
Professional Background: Dr. West earned her Degree of Optometry from Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ, where she was a distinguished member of the Sigma Beta Kappa honors society. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Her training includes extensive rotations in the Phoenix area and Atlanta, focusing on Dry Eye management, specialty contact fittings, keratoconus, diabetic eye exams, and glaucoma care.
