Blepharitis is inflammation along the edges of the eyelids. It can affect the skin around the lashes, the eyelid margins, and the oil-producing meibomian glands that help support a healthy tear film.
For some people, blepharitis causes obvious eyelid irritation. For others, the first signs may feel more like dry eye, with burning, grittiness, watering, redness, or blurry vision.
